THE DREAM- MOUNTAIN SCHOOL & A SINGLE GIRL
IT WAS ALL STARTED WHEN I WAS IN POST GRADUATION!
The mountain school, the dream which popped up out of now where. The times when I was in my Post Graduation, I was exposed to different kind of educational philosophies and thinkers which motivated me to incline towards the indigenous education and self-motivated education for children belonging to the mountains.
This sounded odd for most of them in my circle. Many also laughed at my dream, few from my family told to leave all these thoughts and get married. But none of these opinion left any effect on my dream. I stood strong with my dreams. I stopped sharing my dreams with any of my family members or relatives. All I did was to go forward. I moved to a new place and started developing my knowledge and contacts in the field of education.
It was not easy to live as a single girl with a burning desire to start a school in a completely new setup, environment, community, language or region especially with no support and no one believing in our dream. I took all those opinions, questions and critics to build my dreams stronger. And that’s how now I am writing this piece.
The Single girl with burning desire to start a school! The school oriented with nature! The school oriented with the development of the children and their innate talent!
I do get busy with the work I do! But as a person with strong desire and ambition, I get back to my dream and shape it. When I travel to the Himalayan region, when I watch videos of Himalayan region, I get to see how difficult it is to the children in those region to reach school, to get access to quality education. All these disturbs me and don’t let me be in peace.
The only question in my head is- “THOSE KIDS AND PEOPLE ARE STUGGLING FOR YEARS, THEY STRUGGLE FOR THEIR DAILY LIVING, TO REACH THE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION, TO AFFORD THE QUALITY EDUCATION. AND ALL YOU DO HERE WITH DREAM IS TO DREAM ABOUT STARTING A SCHOOL. WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO GET INTO ACTION? ARE YOU GOING TO WASTE YOUR TIME FOREVER DREAMING ABOUT STARTING A SCHOOL?”
Once I did leave my job and wanted to do something in my life for the desire I have. But then the pandemic happened which also left me in a bad situation. As I told, how much financial security would a single girl have? That too when that girl has a tendency to help everyone around her struggling. And then I am here with my job due to pandemic. Each and every day I wake up, think what am I doing with my life, will I ever be able to achieve my dream? And lots and lots of thoughts.
I also love my job. I give my best in the place I work. But my dreams are stronger than the job I do here which makes me to forget the job satisfaction I get.
THE MOUNTAIN SCHOOL- which will happen for sure by leaving all the financial insecurities, the life I have now, leaving my comfort zone, struggling without regret! And this is how the dream got its shape now. As my boss tells to lakhs of our students- NO REVERSE GEARS, I SHALL DO WHAT I LOVE AND BE DIFFERENT, I SHALL ALWAYS THINK BIG AND AIM HIGH & I SHALL NEVER GIVE UP and I should also follow those things in my life.
As I believe and tell myself- DON’T STAGNATE, I should move on to reach my goal. To read the people in Himalayan region, to get involved with the community and to start my own MOUNTAIN SCHOOL!
This piece is for every one out there who is struck in a phase where they cannot pursue their dream, in a job which pays for their daily life and many other reasons which is stopping them from pursuing their dreams. Nothing comes easy. Greater things take time, take lot of patience, dealing with lot of negative comments and taking for granted.
This might not be the exact motivation as of now. But, working for a cause and working to achieve our own dream gives us the satisfaction more than the 8 digit pay per annum. Take stand and work for a cause, work for your dream!
Be ambitious! Live for happiness!
